Singing Mirror

Her own model for teaching folk singing, in which two people learn from each other.

The “Singing Mirror” is a model created by Ana Borisova in 2024 and described in two research papers. Since 2025 the folk singing class of the Anna-FolkArt Association in Dryanovo has been taught on this basis.

The idea

Folk singing is usually taught in one direction: from the teacher to the pupil. The “Singing Mirror” puts two learners face to face. Each of them hears themselves in the other. What the ear misses in one’s own singing is heard at once in the voice opposite.

The model has been tested with children and adults learning in an informal setting, and is described in the journal “Education and Technologies” and in a separate paper in English.

Who it is for

Since 2025 the class in Dryanovo taught with this model takes children from the second to the seventh grade. Teaching runs from October to June, with sessions twice a month.
